Hey Guys,
I know the pacemaker is not a knew bait, but I was wondering what everybody thought of the new plastic ones and how did they run compared to the old wooden ones. I'm thinking about gettin a few plastic ones too add to my collection of Pacemakers.

I had the same problem and I asked ty about it. he told me to send it to him and he would fix it. I did and he send it back. The first batch was bad. Bad primer.

Heres the thread from his site. I let him know about your bait.

i agree with the paint problem but i have not seen a problem with them as of yet they drive the fish crazy. 3 i got last year were on the black speckle one.. and they will not roll on you.. the wood one's are good too becouse they were the first and the plastic one do hold up better from all the abuse of the center clicking hook. where the wood ones got wore down badly from the center hook. and they went out of tune alot becouse of that.. the plastic ones are better.. as for the pain heck spray paint it . a quick spray and your on your way ....no big deal....bill

hey gary i was wrong it is a big deal, but for me the color is no big deal , i admit i was pissed after about 20 casts with mine. but after dabbing it up it looks ok.. but the other problems are gone, the rolling and having to retune it.. but i still have 6 wood ones and they still get thrown and they have more mojo than the plastic ones.and they are easier to dab paint or marker on too, so they get thrown too.. bill

Hey guys. If there is some paint coming off of the new plastic Pacemaker send it back to me and I'll send you a new one. The guy that paints them tried a new primer on the first few he did. It didn't work! Luckily, there isn't many out there with the bad primer. If anything the paint holds better to the plastic than the wood. If you have small scratches or hookwear I would suggest nailpolish or touchup car paint. I use this on most of the hardbaits that I use like gliders jerkbaits and topwater. If you see chipping of big pieces of paint on your Pacemakers (like Gary's), then just send it to me and I'll replace it. There shouldn't be many left with the bad primer. We caught it pretty quick.

Call me for an address to ship 715-462-9403

Thanks,

Ty Sennett

The new ones are sweet. If you like top waters the new molded models are a must have.

I'm with Jerry and Tony on this. The new Pacemakers are top notch.

Also, I'd like to caution guys not to jump to conclusions or get bent out of shape if you have an issue with any product. As you've seen Ty became aware of a problem with the baits, took care of the problem, and made it right for any customers who let him know about it. MOST manufacturers and bait builders are stand up guys who will bend over backwards to make their customers happy. It's best to let them know if you have a problem and let them take care of it. Sometimes it an issue like the one Ty had where a batch has a problem. Sometimes it's just an individual bait that needs to be replaced. Check with the builder before being too quick to bash a product on a public forum.

I found it very good, durable and had the biggest blow up of my life on it(this is only my 3rd year musky fishing). Seems to actually work better than my wooden ones. Dean

Great to hear someone loves the new pacemakers. It seems once a builder goes synthetic they lose credibility. That is a shame. My pacemaker PB was a 46 until this season. I stuck a 53.5 in September on a new plastic model. I'm 100% sold. Not to mention, Ty's other baits are awesome as well. Had two clients get their PB's on Rough Runners.
