It is a tough situation especially when everyone involved is well liked, which is the case here. Alot of factors to consider, how badly the fish is hooked, tangled in the net and whatever other factors that can impeed the time untill release.

I seen a well known guy engage somebody on webster one time about bringing the fish into the boat and he was basically told, I have been fishing this lake longer than you are alive, don't tell me what to do. It is probably a no win situation.

That would be a kick ass boat wrap: Musky Police, all's you need after that is a set of sirens and a fake mustache.

What you need is like the real police: backup! You know: you get pulled over and then all of a sudden there's three squads? If I had a boat Nick I'd be assistant deputy all day long. So, keep civil-ly informing the public, especially if they are "musky" guys. I'd ask them if they have a large livewell and a bag of ice for the emergency recouperation, and as politely as I could encourage full water releases only. If you cannot guilt them into at least moving spots, then tell them people are watching and we will speak our mind sense we only get a limited amount of muskies stocked annually.

Keep fighting the good fight, it's worth it, even if you look like some snob to some jag bags- they need to hear it and be REMINDED. Some guys are walking a fine line by saying they will water release because I DOUBT they could resist NOT holding a 50 for a photo, but if they have the ICE on board and a decent livewell, I'd say they were at least thinking ahead of the health of the fish.

If these guys are ignorant you can and should tell them that muskies Swine Flu and that it's contagious from the slime on the muskie skin. An eating them shrinks your gonads considerably. MAJOR shrinkage

If you are the only one around to tell them whats up, according to the Midwest Musky Club's pledge of allegiance, it is your sworn duty to protect our natural resources! :P

I have offered help multiple times on the lakes and the river and they usually accept. If I see they don't really know what they are doing I slowly lead in to do the work. They usually don't mind.

u know we as anglers have the intention of sticking 8/0 hooks in the face of these fish .would u consider that abusing the fisheries as well... so when u dishout inaccurate info. about things and try to drag peoples names through the mud isn't a cool move..SO IT IS WHAT IT IS MUSKYSUCKER BUT TO CALL PEOPLE MUSKY KILLERS IS WAY OFF... either way you look at it your kill rate is way higher than ours..
hope u dont take it to persoal...

Well Sal out of the hundreds of fish I have seen people catch you are the only one I have a problem with. I was going to let this die on the water "like the multiple fish I have seen you handle" but you have to be the internet tough guy and bring this up on other sites. I have never had my ego take a fishes life unlike you. I was trying to give you advice on the water and you took to a whole new level. Ryan musky fishing with 10lb test is not exactly respecting the musky fishery! And thats all I have to say about that.
