Why is the wire that goes from the outlet ,to the pedal, hotter than hell, all the time? Had an inline fuse blow last week and I have since installed a 50amp circuit breaker. I have an onboard charger that I charge the trolling motor battery with, if that means anything. The red wire is really hot ,not only when I am using it hard but even if I just am hittin it every few minutes. Any ideas??? Thanks in advance.

You may have too small a guage of wire to feed the trolling motor. If the amp draw of the motor is too high for the guage of wire you are using it can actually burn out your motor. Also keep in mind the length of wire, if its really long you will have a significant voltage drop which will have the same effect of the motor.
I agree, wires may be too small but also check your connections. I was having trouble with my circuit brakers popping and I thought I needed bigger wire but it was actually the loose connections....causing more resistance. Tighten down all of the connecting nuts first. That may fix it.
it is odd to have the wire from the foot pedal to the plug be too hot because that is normally from the factory. It is getting to hot though because the amp draw is too much for that wire. Normally the issue is the wire from the battery to the plug as that does not come from the maker of the trolling motor. If it has been rewired then you need to upsize or call someone who repairs trolling motors to see if there may be an issue with the motor itself.
