September 23rd I was out on lake monona fishing with my son (9) came across many of the iron man contestants fishing was very sad to see a musky tourniment allowing live bait. I have fished/sponsoerd officiated musky inc. tournimeants.
It is my feeling that live bait should not be allowed!!!!!!!!!! What is your feeling about this? Am I the only one that feels this way?
Please contact me regarding my questions daves-windows@hotmail.com or call me 608-205-9648. Dave.

Doug, wanted to personally thank you for your hard work putting Operation Muskie II together. It was an amazing week! Hearing John retell the story of you putting him on that 49" fish made my trip (as well as boating a few muskie myself). This experience will surely last a lifetime for us. It was a pleasure meeting you and sharing a few Lakemaids (beers) around the fire. Please don't hesitate to ask if you need anything from me to make next year's OMIII an extremely memorable event for 20 more deserving combat vets. There are truly some great Americans up on LOTW. Thanks again. Scott Payne USMC

Yes, it was again a great event, even though Mother Nature tossed in some nasty winds and cold temps. The 49"er couldn't have gone to a more deserving Vet. John had lost both of his legs to an IED in Iraq
a couple of years ago. He was an amazing tribute to what a great attidude and great Doctors can do. Great guys!

Hey Doug,
Congrats on another successful Op. Muskie! And congratulations on guiding one of the vets to a 49"er!! I here he will receive a Fittante replica courtesy of Joe. Must be very rewarding to say the least. Job well done!

Doug,

I am looking into fishing LOTW-NW Angle this coming July. Since you have so many years experience on LOTW where would you recommend staying in the NW Angle and why? Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

THX Doug

I have a few spots in southern Georgian Bay that seem similar to what you fish.
I have only used Grandma's and Beleiver's in the past. Will try some Jake's this fall.

Looking forward to it. If you've never fished a river before, you're in for a treat! Not the size your used to, but neverthe less, decent fish and good population. Finally got the rain we needed to bring river up and put some color in. Gonna hit it Saturday(if my honeydo list is completed). Bring some gliders or something that will stay in the strike zone longer. Fish will be hugging the bank if water level is up. dwayne
