We have been there this same week the last two years.
last year they moved to the rocks the day before we got there. We are at Evrrett's bay lodge on the east end right across the bay from the casino.

I have a quick thought on placing your catch in a livewell. Be sure you have circulated the water recently. Otherwise, you are placing a fish in water which could be considerably warmer than the lake water. I believe in leaving the fish in the net u…
I have a few comments to add to this thread.
Just because the fish swims away doesn't mean it was a successful release. I am willing to bet 50% of the mortality rate comes from fish swimming away and dying within a couple of days. In the high temps…
I started musky fishing in 1987. Although I started musky fishing in 87, I did not catch my first until 1995. I was only taking a trip per year to Minocqua and I was a multi species fisherman. I mostly fish the Fox Chain in Illinois and that is where I caught my first...a 32"er on a small Grandma. I fish muskies almost exclusively now.
I had a motorguide autoguide trolling motor and I was fishing Deer Lake in NW Wisconsin. I was in 12' of open water and my trolling motor hit something. I looked down into the water and saw nothing. I said to my brother "what the hell did I hit?" He then pointed out a low 40" musky which was swimming away. I lifted the trolling motor and sure as shit it had teeth marks on it. The damn fish attacked my motor. I realized that day how fearless these fish really are!
Favorite Waters:
Lake Vermilion is my favorite place to fish. I have been there on and off since 1993 I believe. It is where I have caught my personal best 50.5" fish. It is also just a place I am lucky enough to spend a week a year with my buddies. I also enjoy the Hayward area lakes...The Chip especially. My home water the Fox Chain has been very good to me also!
Favorite Style of Fishing:
Bucktails and topwater with a hot summer bite.
Favorite Lures:
Double 10's and prop baits.
Tournaments:
I have fished several local Fox Chain tournaments. I have taken 2nd and 5th in the SOB Jake Wolf spring tourney's. Ryan Stochl and I placed 3rd in the 2001 FRV Challunge on the Chain spring tourney. I also fished the PMTT in 2001 with Ryan.
